The staff and students here at the school are very pleased and excited to be welcoming your students to the school and the Northport Community.
Our 33 year old school has a student population of 98 and a staff of 4 classroom teachers, 1 teaching principal, 4 circuit teachers, 1 part-time school secretary, and 1 part-time teacher assistant for the 2001-2002 school year.
The school day begins at 8:50am and ends at 2:30pm. Our recess break is from 10:30-10:50am. Lunch break takes place from 11:50-12:30. The school is located approximately one half hour from the Town of Amherst in a beautiful fishing and cottage community.
The school is very busy with many activities such as visits from various types of entertainers (Maritime Marionettes and Keith Scott). As well there are various trips taken throughout the school year such as swimming at the Cumberland YMCA in Amherst or at the beach, plays at Mount Allison University and the annual class trips. The Grades Primary to Three classes will go on a one-day excursion in June, while the Grades Four to Six students go on an overnight trip in June.
