Re: English Immersion Program for Kids
Dear
Korean Parents, Children, and Principals,
On behalf of the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board,
I would like to introduce and welcome your children to our school district.
As Director of the International Student Program, I am
most pleased and excited to be a part of facilitating the visitation process
for Korean children to the schools of the Chignecto-Central Regional School
Board. This venture is a first for our school board and we are looking
forward to its success and growth in the future.
The Chignecto-Central Regional School Board offers programs
and services in 91 schools in the Chignecto-Central Region of Nova Scotia
and serves a student population of 26,174 students. Many of our schools
are in rural settings as agriculture is the main industry of our area,
although some schools are located in several of the small towns spread
throughout the Chignecto-Central Region. The majority of our students
are bussed to school with some walking within the confines of town limits
where shorter distances are involved. During the visitation period,
we hope your children will learn something of life in our region and that
our students and staff can, in turn, benefit from exposure to your culture.
The philosophy of our school board is to provide safe
and caring learning environments for our students. I trust your children
will avail of the opportunities to learn and share their experiences in
our schools.
Sincerely,
Paul Millman
